Constitutional Wisdom

Seminar by Deirdre Courtney (MSc. TCM) CNM Lecturer

Deirdre Courtney Long before illness develops there are subtle signs and symptoms of imbalance present in the body, if we learn to listen to these signs, to be our own ‘inner doctor’ we can help optimize health. In oriental thinking we can have a tendency, according to the constitution we have inherited, to have certain energetic imbalances which can eventually become physical imbalances and lead to illness. This seminar will help you to discover what energetic organ imbalances you may be prone to, (liver, heart, lung, spleen, kidney etc). It explores how different factors affect these organs energetically, these include emotions, thoughts, foods, the seasons etc. During this seminar you will assess your own constitution from the oriental perspective, look to see if there are signs of imbalance showing (skin, tongue, physical symptoms) and explore the best ways to stay in balance.

Metabolic Ageing

Seminar by Gosia Desmond (BSc.Nut med. MSc.Diet. MBs.M.A)

Gosia Desmond Why do some people look and feel years younger than they actually are? Can we control our aging process? Research suggests that a long healthy life is no accident. It begins with good genes but is strongly determined by good habits. This seminar focuses on the lessons from the longest living and the healthiest people in the world including the Okinawans in Japan, and the 7th Day Adventists in California, who have been thoroughly studied by modern medicine. It explores the secrets of these cultures, the foods that they eat, the exercise they take, their attitudes, their relationships to each other. If you are interested in slowing the ageing process and staying healthy and looking young for as long as possible this seminar will be of interest to you.
